3.) Consideration to Adopt Resolution 11-2020, a Resolution Authorizing Park City Sustainability Department to File an Application for Pedestrian Facilities on Federal Lands and to Apply for a BLM Grant Allowing Use of BLM Property
(A) Public Hearing (B) Action
I am supportive of the resolution for the public stairs. My condo is immediately adjacent to this parcel. The stairs will provide a safe way for pedestrians to travel from Rossie Hill Drive, down to Deer Valley Loop Drive then on to Deer Valley Drive. I am especially excited about this for winter travel. The lower corner on Rossie Hill Drive is a dangerous for cars and pedestrians.
For future consideration, it would be nice to have an additional set of stairs on the lower part of Deer Valley Loop as well. The street is steep and icy in the winter.
Sincerely,
Allison Kitching

I have a residence on Coalition View Court and strongly support the proposed Resolution 11-2020 authorizing the BLM application for right of way for pedestrian stairs on Rossie Hill. I frequently walk down to Main Street and find the path unsafe. It is a narrow road without a sidewalk and the problem gets worse during the winter. These stairs will significantly improve the access to Deer Valley Drive. Thank you in advance for your support.
Those of us who live on Rossie Hill were happy that a public staircase was part of the plan for the Lilac Hill developmentās approval a few years ago. We are delighted to see that the staircase is now closer to becoming a reality and we support action to pursue a right of way from the BLM. The hairpin turn on Rossie Hill is treacherous in winter when there is snow/ice; cars often take the curve faster than they should, and anything that can be done to safeguard pedestrians (and encourage walking or mass transit in lieu of individual cars) is welcome. Thank you.
Thank you for your consideration in supporting the BLM right of way pedestrian stairs on Rossie Hill. We live on Coalition View Court and frequently walk to town along with our children. The stairs will provide a safer walk avoiding the traffic as well as blind spots at the hairpin turns.
I strongly support Adoption of Resolution 11-2020. My husband and I live on Rossie Hill near the Lilac Hill Subdivision. We frequently walk from Deer Valley Dr. up the hill and around the hairpin turn. The stairs will significantly improve the safety for pedestrians especially during the winter when the road is narrow and busy with large construction vehicles and equipment. Thank you in advance for adopting the resolution. Linda Mason
Thank you for pursuing a BLM right of way request for a proposed stairway in the Snowpark neighborhood on Rossie Hill.
I fully support such a stairway as an aid to pedestrian traffic on Rossie Hill Rd. and commend the commission on your support of that goal.
I urge all commissioners to vote in favor of this agenda item.
Please adopt resolution 11-2020. My husband Duff and I own a home at 575 Rossi Hill Drive. We believe the stairs will create a safer environment for pedestrians (whom we often see navigating this shortcut without stairs and it looks dangerous!) as well as encourage the use of public transportation by making access to the neighborhood more efficient and safe. Thank you!
Park City City Council,
We reside at 668 Coalition View Ct and strongly support the proposed resolution authorizing the BLM application for right of way for pedestrian stairs on Rossie Hill. This is our full-time residence and we have two little kids (5 and 2 years old). We frequently walk down to Main Street or to the bus stop through Rossie Hill and find the path unsafe - it is a narrow road without a sidewalk and the problem gets worse during the winter. These stairs will significantly improve the access to Deer Valley Drive and public transportation. Our family appreciates the effort.

I strongly support this resolution. It will be positive on many levels for the neighborhood, the city and the mountain. These stairs will facilitate residents walking more often into town, riding the buses and not driving to the mountains to ski. We have been in this neighborhood for 17 years. We appreciate the Council prioritizing this and for your continued commitment to safe, walkable, sustainable neighborhoods.
I emphatically support this resolution. It will facilitate realization of the neighborhood's hard fought proposed condition to the Lilac Hill Subdivision and provide pedestrians from all over Rossi Hill, safe access walking to and from the bus stop on Deer Valley Drive. This is especially critical during the winter when visibility on Rossi Hill Drive is blocked by snow build-up on the sides of the road from snow removal. It will keep pedestrians off the roadway as well.
I support the adopt a resolution approving the submission of a right of way (ROW) application to the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) for a set of public stairs on federal land, near the intersection of Rossi Hill Drive and Coalition View Court. My wife and I live at 575 Rossi Hill and the stairs would be adjacent to the end of our drive. I no issue with the public stairs and fully support the improved access to Deer Valley Drive. This is a great project.
I'm writing in support of adopting the proposed resolution authorizing the BLM application for right of way for pedestrian stairs on Rossie Hill. I and other community members would love to have joined in person to support for the application, offer thanks for Park City Municipal's continued progress on the stairway, and to celebrate this milestone! eComment will have to do!!!
