It's not clear what the purpose of the Microtransit service is for - to reduce car trips? reduce transit costs? Rush hour congestion is just that - a rush because generally people have a reason to be somewhere at a given time - switching transit modes to a full bus on the main line seems problematic during this rush hour, and very cumbersome in reverse order? Waiting for a service and not knowing if its then going to pick up another rider or two and delay one further provides an inconsistent service each time to a regular rider on a time clock. AVO (including the single AVO trip for the driver alone) should be reported in your pilot being as its the metric being used by the planning department to justify the base development projects.

Richardson Flat should have a dedicated bus route straight to the mountain and back. A route that goes to another spot to wait for another van or bus sounds very inefficient and not something I would ever use. Richardson Flat has the offsite parking you are looking for and will keep hundreds of cars out of the mountain base area. If option one is something other than this, I will just have a friend drop me off and pick me up at the mountain base area. Say three hundred other people have the same idea to save the money and not waste their day waiting for rides and you have added six hundred and one potential cars coming and going from your base area, sounds like a lot of traffic to me. Option one that is a direct route to and from Richardson flat will service a large number of visitors and makes sense to me. I ride almost everyday, and like others am trying to adjust to Vail's new pay plan and find my best option. Thank you ...

If one of the functions of the Micro Transit vans is to be help alleviate expected congestion and over demand at the PCM parking lot, then I feel the vans will need to take riders all the way to PCM. If the plan is to use the vans to only transport riders to a nearby bus pick-up point where riders will then have an additional wait for the next bus, I don't see much interest in using the system. Based on demand levels, van wait times could be horrendous. Additionally, think about trying to return home near the end of the day....you get to ride the bus to your selected drop off point and then order the van for the ride home. What will be the wait times, standing outside in the weather, until you get your ride?

Additionally, will the vans be equipped to handle skiers in boots and skis/poles ?

Would you be willing to use a system like this? I don't think many people will try to get to the mountain if my assumptions on the rides are correct?
