1.) Consideration to Continue an Ordinance Approving Water Wise Landscaping Land Management Code Amendments to February 16, 2023
(A) Public Hearing (B) Continue to February 16, 2023
As someone who would like to re-landscape a portion of my front yard in Old Town, its always been rather daunting to review the details and requirements to do so. Assuming the plan is to incorporate water-wise landscaping while also updating and improving the appearance of landscape the rules need to be easily understood and not so complicated to deter an owner taking on the task. Currently it seems a professional is required in order to make the slightest of changes to ones landscaping and that is a significant deterrent for most. One point of detail - the irrigation plan as proposed prohibits overhead spray irrigation - I would imagine overhead spray is required to service any lawn/turf - the key here is that not all above ground spray nozzles are water efficient in doing so??
