OnePlus Still Plans To Launch New Earbuds & Smartwatches In 2022, OnePlus has a handful of new products coming, according to a new report, and they include new earbuds and wearables. OnePlus made its entry into the smartwatch segment in 2021 with the launch of the OnePlus Watch and the OnePlus Band fitness tracker. The former wasn't well-received thanks to buggy software while the latter, which didn't launch in the US, had to compete with established brands like Xiaomi and its globally best-selling Mi Band line.
OnePlus is looking to change that with new products, according to a leaked document detailing the company's plans for 2022.
The company's next smartwatch, which will be called the OnePlus Watch 2, will have a similar design as the first-generation model but feature a larger display and better battery life. The smartwatch will also be thinner than the original and come with an improved heart rate sensor. The wearable might also feature fmwhatsApp Download an in-display fingerprint sensor.
This doesn't come as a surprise given that we have been hearing rumors about an in-display fingerprint scanner coming to future OnePlus devices for quite some time now. As far as other specs are concerned, the watch is said to run on Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon Wear 3100 chipset and sport wireless charging support,
OnePlus has also been working on new earbuds called OnePlus Buds that are supposed to be "more comfortable" than its current Bullets Wireless earphones. The headphones are expected to work with OnePlus smartphones running Android Pie or newer out of the box without requiring any additional software updates. They will likely include IPX4 certification for water and dust resistance, Bluetooth 5 support, improved noise cancellation capabilities over the Bullets Wireless 2 earphones, and enhanced sound quality thanks to upgraded drivers optimized by Dirac.
The OnePlus Buds might have touch gestures built into their sensors similar to Apple's AirPods or Samsung's Galaxy Buds. A button on one of them could be used for skipping tracks while double-tapping
it could be used for pausing music. There's also a possibility that the buds will be able to intelligently detect when they are being worn or taken off and pause or resume music accordingly.
OnePlus is also said to be working on a new "mid-range" smartphone with a glass back and support for wireless charging, but it's not clear if this device is related to the OnePlus Buds. The OnePlus 7 might have an in-display fingerprint scanner as well, but it's still too early to say whether this feature will make its way to other OnePlus devices.
The company has been working on significantly improving its software experience as well, especially with OxygenOS. The next version of its custom operating system is said to include new gesture navigation and more customization options, along with improvements to existing features like Reading Mode and Sunlight Display.
It seems like the company is finally ready to share a bit more info about these upcoming products at its keynote event in two weeks, so we'll be sure to report back with any additional info on them as soon as we're able.
The company's official announcement video for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro is already out and we have a post dedicated to it, so check that out for the full rundown on the company's new flagship smartphones!
